Help!! iphone not being recognized
hi
purchased an unlocked iphone which is currently on firmware version 1.0.2 for the first few days it was working brilliantly and managed to sync through iTunes.
however it is now not being recognised by itunes and won't charge
it also won't allow me to put into restore mode using the home button and the power button. i've tried different usb cables different computers reinstalling iTunes and nothing (it does recognise my ipod just not the phone
any help with this would be greatly appreciated cos if i can't get it fixed its gonna turn into a nice paperweight.
Cheers

try taking pictures from your iphone then connect your iphone to your computer if the computer detects the pictures then nothing wrong with cables and connection...... next step try using your independence if you have one installed in mac then click activate see what happens......
are you telling us that een if you charge using the power outlet still no response.....

thanks for your response.
as i said when i connect it i get NOTHING the phone doesn't even show up as a usb device in my device manager. i had to charge it using my daughters ipod speakers!!!
I can't get it into restore mode i've tried 3 different computers all to no avail, the confusing thing is it was working fine .
is there anyway you can do a restore from the phone without using iTunes because i can't get the computer to recognise it at all.
what's independence? i have a windows xp pc

The iphone should be charged from usb!!!
Try this and tell us the results. The power adaptor for charging has an usb output. Plug your adaptor and then connect it through the usb cable with your iphone and see if it charges at all.

i first noticed the problem when i tried to charge it and noticed that it wasn't chrging my next step after that was to try charging it through my computer and the rest as they say is history and detailed above.
