Default Help! error messages cannot unlock.

    Hello all

I have an old 4gb iphone that works great. Recently I tried to upgrade the firmware, that was successful but phone locked up and needs jailbreak and activation.

I have had no success with Ziphone or Iliberty, just error messages. I have read all kinds of forums and tried everything. Cannot downgrade to 1.1.4 or 1.1.2.(error 20) I am using Itunes 7.7.

Tried everything and don't know what to do. At this point I don't even care about the upgrade I just want my phone back to the way it was.

    Please help!

Did you upgrade or downgrade iTunes at some point? You have a mismatch between the Mobile Device driver and iTunes. Use one of these links to troubleshoot this.

OK thanks for the link. I uninstalled and re-installed Itunes and Quicktime a couple times but did not remove all traces of it like the link says. I have upgraded recently to Itunes 9.0.2. So should I uninstall this and install an older version? Where do I go from here?

    Thank you

You need an older version of iTunes, 7.5 or maybe 7.6 to restore to OS1.1.x
Plus your iPhone should be in DFU mode

    Default Can't install itunes 7.5

    Thanks for the reply/

Uninstalled every trace of the new Itunes (I thought) and then installed 7.5. The installation went fine but when I tried to open it it just says cannot run because it was installed with a new itunes file.

How do I succesfully instal Itunes 7.5?

    Thanks so much so far!

"What" cannot run because it was installed with a new iTunes?

Are you talking about your iTunes library? You probably need to rename your iTunes library file/folder so that iTunes 7.5 creates a new default library.
