HardWare Unlocking + Future Updates
Ok i know that if you SW unlock the iphone and a new firmware comes out and you update to it,your iphone is brick temporary for a while until a new SW unlock comes out.
But what happens if you did a hardware unlock like flash and reflash those chips inside the mobo or however you solder guys do it. what would future FW updates do to it like:
1. Brick it
2. Nothing happens (Won't update or Will update with no errors)
3. Fry the components inside (Certainly hope not)
I am asking this b/c majority of the ppl here hv their phones that are SIMByPass or SW unlock.

Huh? you want to elaborate on your respond, i don't understand "depends on the type of firmware"? I am talkin about Hardware unlock, not Software or SimByPass.

Well, if you go with a hardware solution, reflash your bootloader, I mean downgrade it to 3.9, then you'll be able to use any solution that applies to upgraded phones. I mean for example, now you can unlock phones which are not OOTB but upgraded to 1.1.2 by anySIM 1.2. So you will be able to use anySIM 1.2 to unlock your phone if you downgrade your bootloader to 3.9 by a hardware solution.
So what if a firmware upgrade comes out?
Well, it is highly unlikely for a firmware upgrade to include a bootloader update. So it will not take much time to generate a new version of anySIM which works with the new firmware upgrade. Because the exploits of the 3.9 bootloader are well known and if you remember it did not take much time to modify anySIM so as to make it useable for 1.1.2 firmware. Same will apply for a new firmware upgrade and you will be able to upgrade in a few days of time after the release of the new firmware.
But those with the 4.6 bootloader will have to wait and wait and wait and wait... Even if this bootloader 4.6 is hacked, the 4.6 owners will only be able to follow the firmware updates from one version behind. They will be able to upgrade to 1.1.3 only after 1.1.4 is released and so on. Because the new bootloader accepts only a newer version of the secpack where the older 3.9 bootloader accepted the current version also...
