If i followed GeoHots' guide on hardware unlocking my iPhone(i am pretty good at soldering), will it work on my OTB 1.1.2 bootloader v 4.6 iphone?

There is a way to hardware unlock your iPhone OOTB 1.1.2 with 4.6

But it's different from "old" GeoHot's guide...

That was for a previous bootloader.
For the new bootloader you would have to remove the baseband chip, flash it with a hacked baseband(just some lines) and resolder it!

The equipment for this process cost around 1000-3000 dollars(depending where you live and if used/new)
Now if you also have the experience to do such a thing, go for it and tell us how it went!

Just get a turbo sim! No need to solder at all

Hardware Unlock will work when Apple release an update with a new Secpack, now it will not work!

UPDATE: We just need a newer Seckpack !!

I think, if some do know hardware unlocking for BT 4.6, he or she should post it in our forum.

Please post something more concrete other than remove 4.6 boot and reflash it and bla bla...

Honestly? If you want to do it yourself, the cost of your effort is going to be more expensive than actually signing a contract with AT&T for 2 years.

1) Software unlock will work when Apple release an update with a new Secpack

2) IF there is the new Secpack in the update (chances are there are no Secpack)
