Default Gunlocked 1.1.2 to 1.1.4 with Iplus 2b

I have a 1.1.2 that I unlocked with Geohot method . I now want to install 1.1.4 on my phone and want to use Iplus 2b to free it. Do I need to run iplus without the [-u] attribute ???

Restore the phone to 1.1.4 in iTunes then run iplus -u. Easy as pie...

No disrespect taken... Unless you unlocked with the Geo IPSF unlock, your phone will be relocked after the restore. What did you mean by Geohot Method??

GeoHots Gunlock script is what I used. I believe we are talking about the same thing.

Geo was involved in more than one unlocking solution. The two most recent were the gunlock script and the Geo IPSF style unlock. The IPSF unlock modifies the seczone and is essentially restore proof as this area is not overwritten by iTunes. The gunlock on the other hand (which you used) only modifies the baseband. When you restore to 1.1.4, iTunes will not only update your iPhone software to 1.1.4, but it will also overwrite your old baseband with the new 04.04.05_G version hence wiping out your unlock. After the restore your phone will be relocked.

    iplus -u

i have a 1.1.2 OTB which i used i.unlock.no repo geohot unlock. im not sure if this was the IPSF style unlock but i think it was because the gunlock was a script that you had to execute using minicom and i didnt do that. i merely clicked on an installer that said gunlock on the i.unlock.no repo.

anyhow, there was a way to check if your phone was IPSF style unlocked or not by sending AT commands to the baseband. i dont remember how to do this.

in any case, my question is now i want to upgrade to 2.0.

1-is it safe for me to do so?
2-what do i have to be careful of to not brick my phone?
3-how can i do this safely? what tutorial(s) can i follow?
