Glad you got it figured out. Thank god for unsecure wireless hotspots. You may want to hang around a touch longer and download the following, then you should be good to go: BSD Subsystem, AnySIM 1.1. & YouTube activation

i read alla the tutorial about revirginize but when i open terminal and i type cd..when i left one space the terminal says [process completed] and nothing hapens until i press the home button
can anyone give me a special advise what to do ?

p.s when the tutorial says remove all your apliciations exept terminal and subsytem that meen that i have to unistal and the Unlock program from iphone ?

Regarding the removal of applications. You don't need to worry too much about that. It isn't a must. The bottom line is that the applications won't remain on the iPhone after the restore so I just deleted all my other applications before the upgrade.

Final question before I attempt this... I've modified my ABPhoneFormats.plist and AppSupport files for correct number formatting and caller ID recognition for the UK. Do I need to revert back to the original files before I revirginise? Or will this happen automatically for me? Finally, has anyone from UK / Europe followed this guide successfully? Thanks for all the good advice on here.

i did the procedure of typing the commands in mobile terminal and i have bsd and ophen ssh installed and mobile terminal too.. after i finish typing the last command
and hit the return key nothing happens i have kept the phone in same state is there something else i need to execute the commands im new to this so plz help

You do not need to revert back to your old files before doing this. However, the upgrade will replace your files. I am not sure if they will work again in 1.1.1. You may wish to research and check before upgrading.

When you open Terminal are you presented with '#' ? After each line you should press enter and it should then start a new line after completing with '#'. You will not see anything happening on screen until you get to the command './norz seczone.backup 0x3FA000 0x2000'. This should output information to the screen.

I suggest if this is not happening then you reinstall the BSD Subsystem and Terminal, reboot the iPhone and try again.

Don't forget to backup your seczone though, and copy it back to the computer via iBrickr.

I think you may be a bit confused. Probably due to information overload.

AnySim 1.1. is the software used to unlock the iPhone from AT&T - You will need to do this.
Jailbreakme is a method of gaining access to the iPhone in order to run AnySim 1.1. - You will need to do this also.

Keep reading up on everything before starting if you're still not sure.

When you're comfortable and ready to unlock your iPhone this guide will help. Just start from the step Jailbreak and Activate iPhone Firmware 1.1.1.
