Default Gmail push AND SMS notice of email?

Is anyone having this issue? When my gmail is updated (Tmobile, unlocked) almost a couple minutes later, i get an SMS text from "700" that i received an email from so and so on my gmail. And i have no idea why....

    its pretty annoying, any help?

    hey krazy,
i, too, am synced w/ gmail but i don't have that issue.
the nuisance that i come upon is whenever i send out an email from either the Iphone or my actual gmail account, i will receive that email back as a new incoming email. i already have "bcc to myself" option off already.....do you have the same problem?

Krazy that is an option in Gmail. Go to your account in gmail to change it.

Yes, the problem with seeing your own outbound messages in gmail has to do with 'recent mode', if I remember correctly. Turn 'recent mode' OFF to keep from seeing your own outbound messages.

I'm using Gmail, but don't see the SMS that the OP talked about. Is that just a 'feature' of Gmail (unrelated to iPhone), like "send SMS to this # when I receive an email"??

And as for the texts, i havent seen anything regarding my mail being forwarded to my phone, im not sure why thats happening. gmail doesnt have that option either.

it's weird, turning off recent mode solved the receiving outward bound emails temperarily and now the problem is back. any more fixes???

still no updates on this. i still get a text for every incoming mail i receive in gmail. and its always from sender "700"

as far as recent mode goes, it still displays my outbound mail too.
