Gbp £340
I'm a little hesitant since this doesn't really come under any sort of "unlocking". However, it does refer to some "unlocked" iPhones being strangely available in the UK (provided the link still works):

I'm thinking these are rather unofficial... i.e., the 1.02 batch.

You're very probably right. They'll be of the US batch before the bootloader update.
It'd be cheaper to buy a brand new UK iPhone and a Turbosim!

Indeed: I just don't get the crazy prices floating around (eBay and otherwise) for locked and unlocked iPhones. The cheapest (locked) iPhone should never have a price above the cost to buy it in the US and shipped to the buyer's locations. I.e., around £225. And for the unlocked version, around £250 once the cost of a TurboSIM is also included. It really must be the hype factor surrounding the gadget.
