Default FW 1.1.1 downgrade to FW 1.0.2 questions

    Hi guys,

My first post here so pls bear with me.

I just got my iPhone which came with FW 1.1.1 out of the box.
I tried the downgrading guide and got to step 5 below:

    4. After the restore is complete, you'll be told that the process failed, and
the iPhone will be in recovery mode. This is normal. Grab a copy of
    NullRiver's Installer.app from http://iphone.nullriver.com/beta/ and
attempt to install the Installer.app. This will cause your phone to boot
again, however the installation of Installer.app will fail (it's OK).

    5. Congratulations, you're now back at 1.0.2. You'll need to get shell access
to move onto the next step. Since you have Installer.app right there,
just run the installer again. This time it should succeed. Now activate.

Apptap manages to install successfully. However, checking the firmware version using *3001#12345#* still shows the firmware as 4.***.

So does this mean that I didn't manage to downgrade to FW 1.0.2 successfully?
    Thanks in advance!

thats normal you can't downgrade the baseband without doing it manually using the 4.0 secpack file.

for now you can use IPSF to get it unlocked
    or
lookup the latest downgrading thread and follow the manual method of flashing the baseband from 4.0 to 3.0

    Thanks for the reply!

So the *3001#12345#* method checks the baseband and not the firmware version?
How can I check the firmware and baseband version to know I have downgraded the firmware to 3.0?

    Thanks again!

*3001#12345#* shows both the firmware of the phone and the firmware of the modem

I have already done the downgrade instructions and installed Apptap successfully.

But when I click on version, the Firware version shows 4.0
Does that mean both firmware of the phone and modem are still 4.0?

Or is is that my phone firmware is 3.0 but modem is still 4.0?

    Thanks for the patience!
