    Unhappy Frozen at activation screen

I got a new 1.1.1 and entered *#307#. Got a call back and followed the steps to enter a new contact. The wifi settings never showed up and the phone froze.

I've restarted, held both buttons for a long time to shut down, even tried restoring with itunes (1.0.2 & 1.1.1) but no avail. It takes about 2 minutes to boot up and then it freezes at activation screen. Nothing happens, no icon flashing etc.

If I connect to itunes to activate via AT&T, it reboots after a few minutes. Is it a faulty unit or did entering the *#307# code did something ?

    thanks.

this happened to me as well. Unplug the phone from USB and hard reset. Wait for the phone to boot (about two minutes) then look at the activation screen. If the "slide for emergency" words are scrolling white, continue. If it is not scrolling and frozen just wait. Mine took about 5 minutes to start. When the words are scrolling open itunes and plug the phone in. Let iTunes see the phone then close out iTunes. Your phone should then sync. Open up ibrikr v0.9. If you are in version 1.1.1 downgrade, if not you can jailbreak from there. Good luck man.

if you want to stay on 1.1.1, don't use ibrikr, after iTunes sees the phone close out all iTunes .exe through processes and run touchfree

I left it on for half an hour but the screen stays frozen. The "slide to unlock" thing doens't animate/flash.

Its a week 39 phone. Now I'm unsure if it was 1.1.1 or 1.0.2 to start with. What if I enter *#307# on 1.0.2, will it work ? What does it exactly do ?

Try hard reset with it plugged into the computer and waiting for it to animate.

    Does it animate in 1.0.2?

Also, if you wait around 10 minutes and it doesnt animate, try tapping the sleep\power button. Push it quickly\hold it down, try combinations just to get it unfreeze. Also try holding down home and power for 2 seconds and releasing, not fully hard resetting but just to get it to unfreeze.

    I tried this
    > hold the sleep & home for ~ 10 seconds until it restarts
    > hold the sleep & home for 10 sec, then release sleep. Keep holding home till it shuts down. After restart, it still freezes. After this step, itunes prompts me to restore phone. When I restore to 1.1.1, its the same, when I restore to 1.0.2, it says in yellow "please connect to itunes"...

    thanks for ur help.
