[Firmware] Should i unzip the ipsw before opening it in iTunes ?
I'm sorry I'm posting new thread.
This might be a very stupid question. But I've learned the most stupid is the question that was not asked...
I just got my iPhone and I'm trying to do all the things that must be done. The first post at this chain gives a very good avice. But there is a thing - when downgrading from 1.1.2 to 1.1.1 and I've chosen Recover (in iTunes) I should do this: "Now a "Browse your files" window will open, go and chose the firmware 1.1.1 file you have downloaded in step 1 and press open"
But I've downloaded the file, it was zipped. That is not the problem, I can unzip it. But when I unzip it there is a file and lots of stuff in that file. But nothing that looks like a legobrick on this tutorial page (scroll down a little).
So what should I choose from the file? In that file there is nothing named Firmwire 1.1.1 or iPhone1,1_1.1.1_3A109a_Restore.ipsw. File's name is this iPhone...Restore.ipsw. There are some programs and other things in that file, but what I'll choose?
As I said, this might be stupid question.

Hi and welcome to Hackint0sh.

You don't need to unzip it, just select it with iTunes as it will recognize the ipsw file automatically.

I tried to use search but could not find the right thread.
I'm so used to unzip everything what is zipped. No I see where the problem was. Thanks a lot!
