So, I'm new to hacking. Is there a gurantee that the 1.1.2 will be unlocked? Cuz i have week 46 (uughhh so close to 1.1.1).

P.S. Is there less of a risk of messing up the iPhone if I just wait for the 1.1.2 to be unlocked? (as apposed to downgrading to 1.1.1)

Very basically Geohot_ and some other clever Guys have workout there’s a way to enter a 15 digit code into a phone “by some means” that will provide a true unlock with itunes.

Every phone will accept a unique 15 digit code that ranges between 000000000000001 and 999999999999999. The Idea is to run a program that tries ever combination until it finds the correct code. Thing is this could take something like 104 days on one average computer running 24/7.

So the Guys are working on some ideas:
1st make the Program work faster and 2nd collect information from Officially Unlocked phones to see if any numbers in there codes are Consistent.

If there are lets say three numbers that are consistent like 345 at the beginning then the unlock time frame will be a lot less.

All in all its promising news but as thing stand its very early days.
