So forgive me if I feel "a sense of entitlement" when I pay someone and expect a result on the other end of it.
First of, you're a complete douchebag. No question about it.

Secondly, your not paying, your DONATING. Understand the meaning of that.

And thirdly, no one is FORCING you to contribute. It's complete free will. So if you're not satisfied with their work, the get the fuck outta here and go unlock it on your own.

And just to top things of, they strictly state that their project is FREE for the public. They accept donations, but they aren't holding a gun to your head and demanding it.

I agree these people think that they are obliged to get results just cuz they have donated this is not like a store you dont pay for an item and not receive it, this is a forum and they are asking you to donate so there will be more funds available so you should not really expect something to happen cuz if it does not you will be peed off

    ^Highly unlikely.

Follow these steps to check firmware, and report back with results.

    1. Power iPhone.
    2. Slide for emergency, dial *#307#
    3. The phone will ring. Erase *#307# and dial 1.
    4. Accept the incoming call.
    5. Once accepted place the call on hold.
    6. Another call will come through. This time decline.
    7. You will now enter a menu. Tap contacts and add a contact with a URL as follows: prefs://11
    8. Save the contact and once saved, tap on the url to enter the settings menu.
    9. In the settings menu, go under general > about > and your firmware will be displayed.

Report back with that firmware and modem version you have.

How often do you guys want the updates? I mean http://iphonejtag.blogspot.com/ has the latest update on 1st of December and today is the early morning of 5th. That update was 4 days ago.

Do you expect daily reports? I'd say the updates are coming through at a reasonable pace and those who are whining should really just stop. If you want to use the Phone part immediately, get yourself a TurboSIM, if you don't, then STFU and wait. The choice is yours.

Hmm... I wasn't originally referring to you, but to the random guys who got pissed at the Dev team that they weren't getting quick enough feedback on the progress and that if they were getting paid they have to report so why don't the Dev team report more frequently.

That's why I said that there are frequent enough reports and WTF more do they want. If a report 4 days ago is too long ago, then these persons should get themselves some relaxants (caffeine works the opposite way btw ).

What I mentioned unlock for is that the whole frenzy about the new firmware is to find out if they can unlock. So if someone is so eager to unlock that he/she can't wait any longer, they just should go for the turbosim, which is known to work for 1.1.2 OTB (no guarantee to work later, but then again you don't have to upgrade until the later version is known to work in any way).

    Again, chill man

Those who want to keep their eye on the version numbers at the apple site for iPhone can use the following line on a LINUX box (the sed in Leopard at least didn't recognize the -r for regular expressions and didn't work without the option):

    Code:
    curl -s -L http://phobos.apple.com/version | gunzip |grep iPhone |grep ipsw|sed -r 's+.*\,1_([0-9]\.[0-9]\.[0-9]).*+\1+g'|sort|uniq
    As an example:

    Code:
    $ curl -s -L http://phobos.apple.com/version | gunzip |grep iPhone |grep ipsw|sed -r 's+.*\,1_([0-9]\.[0-9]\.[0-9]).*+\1+g'|sort|uniq
    1.0.2
    1.1.2

The problem is that those that are really desperate about an unlock solution for bootloader 4.6 just want one type of news: either a "it's done" our "it will be ready tomorrow".

They need to understand that these things take time. The first unlock took more than 2 months to come out, and we are 2 weeks into this new firmware.

So, be patient. If you have a single iPhone and are desperate, go get a TurboSIM or similar. If you make money out of unlocked phones, pitch in and wait.
