nice to hear we r continuing the project..i already have tried gbootloader with skiiping part but when it checks it says "new bootloader not found" and it shows
    bootloader version :1
    eeprom version :258
    eeprom revision :1
    firmware version :1
it makes me feel like somehow our bootloader got neutered..thats why i suggested u, u should include a check free or forced bootloader flash in ur ifix!
i have joined the club again..lets start workin guys..

Just a question: Would the A17 method work to get the baseband to flash on a 1.1.4 phone? Or should I stay away from that because its the old method?

Ok, I see where this is going...

There needs to be a program that skips the check and deletes the baseband, etc. of the eeprom.

It sounds like you guys are close. I also think this is worthwhile to do, even if everyone is moving to 3G's and 2.0's. I mean who is to say this isn't going to creep up later on with the ppl who move to 2.0? I think I've seen some cases where it has, already.

Keep up the great work! If I was a programmer, I'd be all over this too!

George Hotz recently posted on his blog that you could upload almost everything in DFU mode, no exploits needed:

Also, heres why a certain person claimed the DFU was the key. You could, without any exploits, upload the 114 iBoot(even to the 3g), the 114 kernelcache(ok, this crashes on the 3g), and a hacked ramdisk. But the filesystems don't mount. And even if they did, you'd need a way around sig checking.
Does this means that you can re-load the bootloader, just as we could through the testpoints method?

Developers, please help us! GeoHot also wrote a piece of code that, to my understanding will let us run anything while in DFU mode.

Here is a little program(with source of course) to run whatever you want at the DFU level; an implementation of the dev pwnage 2.0 exploit. Pass it a binary file, it will start executing at the start of the file(no file formats to deal with). I'll leave it to dev to explain the exploit used.
Here's the post and link to the file.

    Hi everyone.

Finally, I come here to post some good news.
1st. Geohot code looks fine, I will try it when I arrive home.
2nd. The testing to fix error 1011 was used using an iPhone 1,2 firmware, which means we were (I???) using an incorrect firmware bundle. What does this means? using the correct bundle and files, we will get our iPhones back (I hope so).

Unfortunately, I'm not @ home now, but will try this methods as soon as I get there.
I will arrive on july 28, so stay tuned for news. Maybe this the solution, maybe not, lets see what happens.

I posted a comment on George Hotz's blog asking him if the code he developed would help us:

GeoHot, do you think this code can be used to re-upload the BL for those of use with ibricks due to corrupt bootloaders?
    Unfortunately...

    George Hotz said...
"Bootloader" means two things, iBoot, or baseband bootloader. I assume you are referring to the baseband bootloader, and no, it doesn't help there.
The comment is here, his answer is 2 comments below mine

    Any other ideas are welcomed!
