The version of iTunes should not matter because none of the actual unlocking is done through the iTunes program. I would recommend getting the latest version if possible.
And yes you have to restore your iPhone to Firmware version 1.0.2. If you follow the tutorial exactly then you shouldn't have any problems.
If any changes occur, as in Firmware realeases or maybe a new release of anySIM, I'll update the package!
Thanks for the questions guys, you make other peoples lives easier

From the top of my head, I don't think you don't. All the communication from the iPhone to the PC is done through the USB cable.

Might be another stupid question.... sorry quite new to this:
I'm not getting the phone til next week and I am afraid it will load with the new 1.11 firmware. If that's the case, when the iPhone is restoring, can we just select a 1.02 firmware file to "downgrade" it?
Thank You

iTunes has the ability to restore from a chosen Firmware file. Just download the 1.02 firmware of a forum or something, and restore your iPhone from the downloaded file.
I'll post some more information here on how to do it.
EDIT: Here is a link to the 1.02 restore file: http://appldnld.apple.com.edgesuite....8_Restore.ipsw

In the last part, you said to run activate.bat again.
This is only if youtube does not work, right?
If youtube "somehow" does work after instally anySIM, i wouldn't need to run activate.bat again?
And how come i see people talking about how you need to install "lockdwn" after you install anySIM.
So your guide skips this as this is no use with we use activate.bat.
I assume activate.bat does what "lockdwn" does.
Thanks again!
The instructions here didn't mention it:
