Okay I'm planning on buying an iPhone and since I already know how to tell what firmware it has out of the box can anyone help me with how to downgrade the firmware if its using 1.1.1. I have a windows pc and all the instructions from the iphone dev wiki and even this site are for only macs. I have iTunes version 1.4.2.4, should i get the newest version? What tools should I use? I have iBrickr v.8 , PACAY, AppTap, and wiNstaller.

If you can help me on this please message me the info, that way I can easily find it instead of searching the forum. Please include links for any programs or guides. Thanks.

restore to 1.02 by
You can restore without itunes to restore 1.02 download restore file here

http://appldnld.apple.com.edgesuite....8_Restore.ipsw

then
turn off phone
hold home button and plug in usb
itunes will start and ask to restore
hold the shift button and click restore
it will ask you for the file, guide it to the downloaded ipsw file
let it restore even after you get an error

then run apptap

This will only get the ipod function back not the phone functions

this guide will help just leave out the unlock section

Dude I'm sorry but when I posted this thread that was when the only way to downgrade using this message board was if you owned a mac, so please layoff. And thanks for whoever sent me that link.
