Downgrade from 1.1.1. back to 1.0.2. with IPSF Unlock
All,
I'm back from the dead!
I have just downgraded my 1.1.1 iPhone to 1.0.2. Without even attempting to downgrade the BB (not required for IPSF), I reinstalled all my apps and re-ran the IPSF application with the AT&T SIM card in the phone. The app reported that it was already unlocked.
Quickly replacing my AT&T Sim with my MNO's SIM card, the phone immediately re-activated.
Thus, the moral of the story is that for IPSF unlocked phones, no BB flash is required!

Oh.... So i guess it won't work if people used anysim or iunlocker...
Hmm.....
I was think that if i unlocked my phone with anysim then updated, and restore it back to 1.0.2 I could fix the incorrect sim with IPSF!
But I guess it won't work!

Just finished reactivating my voicemail button. For those of you interested or concerned, I was able to minicom to the BB and update my vMail parameters without a problem. Was a bit concerned that I wouldn't be able to access the 1.1.1. BB via minicom or that it was password protected. It's not.
Welcome to minicom 2.2

Radio (modem) version 04.01.13_G used in conjunction with 1.02 does not correct the Flash SMS problem. FYI, the radio receives the SMS and tells the CPU that an SMS is awaiting transfer from the SIM card to the SMS.app. Unhappy, this STILL has yet to be corrected in BB 1.1.1. Clearly the problem continues to lie with the Firmware.

If you've used the Dev Team's unlock, you're going to have to wait it out a bit. If you haven't unlocked at all, then I'd downgrade from 1.1.1 to 1.0.2 as per the method that was recently discovered. At which point, install all necessary apps and try and get yourself a copy of IPhoneSimFree if you're in a rush. Alternatively, you can wait for the Dev Team's free fix, would should be forthcoming. It's just a matter of finding the correct blocks to re-write in the BB or to try and identify how to reprogram the EEPROM and then flash the BB with a clean copy. The difficultly with the EEPROM approach is that they are 2 or ever 3 different BB versions, and that is going to complicate things a bit, since their application will need to determine the existing version before doing anything.
