What would be nice is that you actually show the iPhone actually doing this, its just a bunch of slides, which has already been accomplished via text.

    Thank You!

I just did this downgrade on a regular locked AT&T phone (previously jailbroken) And it seems to have worked like a charm!! I couldn't use the backup from itunes to put all my contacts and such on and I have to set up my mail acct again but thats simple enough. I now have my beloved intaller.app back and I'm a happy camper.

I have the same situation. my phone is locked to att. I just want to go back for the apps. with that said, do you still need to do all the file transfers to get the phone part to work? or will the phone part automatically work?

I believe there should be a fair warning here:
You should, at least for now, not try to downgrade an out of the box 1.1.1, or a 1.1.1 that was updated from a previously non-unlocked 1.0.2, as doing so will result in your phone having 1.1.1's baseband firmware on a 1.0.2 firmware phone. (ie, if you go into Fieldtest mode after downgrading to 1.0.2 and see the version of your firmware, it will remain at 04.01)

Lets see if anyone is able to unlock a phone that has firmware version 04.01

Default No longer Bicked *But* still need help

THANK YOU! I am no longer bricked, but I do not have the original sim card. I was able to get a new one from Cingular today and have inserted it into the phone. All the apps are working, but no phone service because I still receive incorrect sim error. What now?

Thanks. I guess I'll go to plan B. since my 4gb is only 10days old I am going to make up some reason I am not happy with it and exchange it for another. yeah it will cost me $30 but better than this crap.

The KMAC method worked on my 1.02 phone that was restored updated to 1.1.1. I now have 1.02 firm with 1.1.1 basband. I tried to reflash the basband back to 1.02 but was unable via this method: http://www.iphonegoboom.com/#restore
It wouldn't work. I started to type launch in the term on the phone but the term program cashed after typing "lau"

It seems wifi won't work with the mismatched basband/OS firmware. I DID NOT have an unlocked phone. Just bypassed activation and jailbroken. I'm wondering if that is why I can't get wifi access. The iphone won't get an IP from the router.

Ah well, I'm just glad progress is being made now that the dev team has a dump of the 04.01.13 basband and folks can easily move between the 1.02 and 1.1.1 for testing. Crossing fingers for an unlock method on the new basband as well as activation on 1.1.1.

@compu, I always actually show it, this was a rush job and it was done at 3am.

Once I get hold of a 1.1.1 I'll take video and show it as I did with the other tutorials.
