Thumbs up Downgrading 1.1.1 to 1.0.2

Like a fool , I was an idiot and upgraded to 1.1.1. I was so bummed when I lost all my ringtones, which i got from Efiko iphone ringtonemaker for windows. Which I LOVE, LOVE!!!! So they posted a blog on how to downgrade by following simple instuctions, so once again they're software will work on the iphones. It worked like a charm for me. At first I was a bit hesitant, since i've been reading a lot of posts of people who tried to downdgrade but got stuck with their phone feature being completely disabled, but was able to restore to 1.0.2. Or having the cable and itunes logo on their phone 24/7 only. I used these steps, but I used my laptop instead so I can install the itunes version 7.3.2, without taking the chance of losing my music on the itunes that I use on my desktop computer. Worked like a charm. Just make sue you update your contacts to your computer by using either outlook, or your emial accounts so you can sync it back once the downgrade is complete, as you will start from scratch on your phone. I'm very happy I did it. I will never update again unless I've read about it first. Also I've always been an At&T user, so I'm not sure if this works with other iphones that had their sims unlocked to work with different carriers. Hope this helps. I vouch this works 100%

I did the iUnlocker.pxl aswell hopefully why phone is still usable for something until then its a nice ipod touch.

I have the same thing. I bought a phone off someone that bricked their phone, thought I was getting over. Problem is I can't get it to recognise an AT&T sim!

I contacted the person that sold me phone and he said he did everything I am doing and still it woudn't recognise the sim for him either.

Right now I'm stuck. It's just a paperweigt for me. Any ideas?

I DGed from 111 to 102(no probs). I even got the phone to read the network for a brief moment.
I'm about to spike this phone!!!!

This method should work if you are a current At&t user. Not too sure, about the unlocked ones with "Any sim" As soon as I restored mine, I chose "set up as new phone" Just make sure you do it that way, and not choose the option that says restore from "Backup". The downfall is you loose everything including your contacts.

Alos, I never used apptapp or ibrickr or anything like that. I just followed the steps one by one, exactly as shown. I'm not sure why some of you can't get your actual phone feature back, if you are with At&t. That's really odd. Are you guys using the method that I linked from the eralier post?

Ok, I (like an idiot), did this without reading further into the thread. I downgraded the firmware to 1.0.2 and used AppTapp. If i restore to 1.1.1 will I brick?

I am stuck at the yellow restore screen myself. Tried Apptapp several times. It always "completes" within 10 secs. It does not work. I tried wiNstaller too. Gives an error and does not do anything. Oh well, its time to throw this in the closet and wait for a proper hack to come out. It might be a long wait.........

Problem solved. There is a new version of ibrickr out. I am not so sure if it is really ready for prime time as i had to restart the damn thing so many times but after about an hour with ibrickr, Apptapp and PACAY, my phone can now be used as a glorified itouch.

    New PACAY
