Hi guys!!!

Only who already tried to open the iphone knows how easy and hard it can be depending on the tools, the skills and a proper guide....

I learned from the ifixit video in the first hardware unlock in last year and made little modifications since there's no commercial interest....

many attempts....many scratches...many iphones....

I'll try to make it simple...

if you do it nice and gently....no scratches and in 5 minutes....is all done....
proceed by your own risk...and you know that it will void your warranty….

tools...

swiss knife and a phillips screw driver( tiny) those for glasses....

both black antena cover and silver plastic back covers are pretty fragile...

and everything is put together by little locks...( I don't know exactly how to describe it...but all you need is to bend it gently in proper places and with proper tools...)


STEP ONE
I REALLY DO NOT RECOMMEND USING FLAT SCREW DRIVER FOR THIS....IT MIGHT DAMAGE YOUR CASE.....

GUITAR PICKS ARE GOOD....BUT THE THIN ENOUGH TO DO IT IS NOT HARD ENOUGH AND USUALLY BENDS BEFORE THE CASE....BUT SOMETIME IT WORKS....

first thing to do is to remove the sim tray.....

if you don't know how to do it....or if removing it gives you creeps....this is where you stop....

Step 2

the black case...or antena case (btw I think it's not a good name for it since iphone's antena is the silver frame....

can be removed in two movements....

first lets take a look at the back side of it...



arrows indicate the locks ...

first insert your swiss knife (small blade) as shown in the pic below and gently...GENLTY!!!!! bend it toward to the case till your hear a click

Step 3

use the edge off the blade as shown in the pic below inserting it into the tiny gap in the exact place as in the picture and slowly make a gentle pressure pushing it downwards and outwards as you’re trying to slice it in 45 degrees...

Step 4
now the hard part….

Remove the three screws that holds the silver cover…

The silver cover has 7 metal clips
3 on the volume key side
4 on the other side…

the secret of easy removal is to know where this xxx clips are and do the same thing inserting the blade and bending it gently to pop the case out…

there is a order to follow…

do not insert anything below the case as instructed in the ifixit video…it may bend your case and leave that bended-plastic-white mark on it….

Its a good guide, but you need to learn how to focus your camera. In every picture, the iphone is blurry, but the background is clear. Good guide though.

You need to use macro mode on your camera. That way we can actually see your pictures.

But much appreciated the time and effort you're putting into this guide, i'm almost debating doing the unlock myself.....

Forget about this it is not safe!

LET’S START FROM THE VOLUME KEY SIDE
try to remember the exact position of the locks and insert the blade firmly at the cover-metal frame gap till the end..this part wont do any damage….I promise…

and gently bend it as you’re trying to pop the case out….DO IT GENTLY…OR THE BLADE MAY SCRATCH PERMANENTLY YOUR CASE….

Start as indicated at the picture….always remember the position……

the gap in your iphone will look smaller since this pic were taken from an open iphone…

sorry the only camera i have at this very moment is my other iphone's camera...
