    its quite easy to solder, if you are used to that i mean

    I don't understand... Soldering the trace is even worse than using a needle, no?

    I completed the HW downgrade yesterday and opening was HELL..
    But about the traces, i found that just using a magnifying glass and a needle to "prick" the trace works great, try it with diferent pressures till you get a conection, had to do it twice and downgrade went fine.

    These pics are lame, you should have used the Macro mode of the camera.

    Anyways, here's a great video tutorial for opening the iPhone

    While it uses a specialized instrument, i'm sure you can easily
    get hold of one like the one used.

    For example these come in the package with a spare battery or a spare LCD screen.

    if you had red the thread you would know that the author already has 4 tools like that and he said it was NOT even remotely easy as the video no youtube make it appear.... its hard as HELL even with this tool

    dude...soldering for me was so hard...no skill enough to do it....never actually tried....just couple practices......went straight to needle......
