Default Dev Team 1.1.1 jailbreak, with activation and 3d party apps support

    O hai
before u read it, read this:

    WARNING TO UNLOCKERS
The following instructions CAN NOT be used by those who have unlocked
their iPhones qith iUnlock or anySIM. Apple has designed the 1.1.1 upgrade to permanently brick
iPhones that have had their baseband modified to unlock the SIM.

ok, so what works - jailbreaking, springboard patching
activation is a bit messy for noobs.

also some probs may accures on windows, or may not.

    files located are http://tinyurl.com/254sse

    read README very carefull.

    good luck

    short Q/A

Q: will it allow to make calls ?
    A: No

Q: what it will be after activating?
A: it will be like ipod touch.

    - iphone dev team.

Considering the depth of the step by step, I was surprised to find no mention about changing the root password. Most people probably don't want to walk around with an ftp server in their pocket with root login using "alpine" as the password.

fix this by using Installer.app to get a terminal and unix tools.

once done, type "passwd root" without the quotes, then enter your password when prompted. It will prompt you to repeat, enter the password a second time.

This should be included in an update to the walkthrough

Thanks a ton for all your work dev team!

Default Have been waiting for this piece of news forever!

    Greetings,

It sounds like new / non modified iphones with FW v1.1.1 can be activated and fully functional as phones with non-ATT Sims, just like v1.0.2 with SimUnlock and friends. Am I reading this correctly or am I delirious?

    Kudos to the Dev Team!

    You're delirious

When they say Activated they mean bypass the Attach to iTunes screen.

Everything attached to this states you need an AT&T SIM and AT&T account

So one thing that is still not clear. If I have a 1.02 phone that is unlocked using IPSF will this method work considering IPSF claim the phone remains unlocked during upgrade?

I apologize if this is too noob of a question.
So this method does the jailbreak only but not the unlock right?
kaz i see words like "activated" here and there and "works with non ATT sim"

I'm really looking forward to a full unlock.
As soon as itz out, i'm gonna head down to the states and get one before apple relocks the phone with further upgrade....especially therez been rumour that @ UK they're using 1.1.2 for staff training or something like that..

Weather itz simply jailbroken or unlocked...Millions thanks to the Dev Team!!

After reading this method, it looks like it will jailbreak v1.1.1 and the last few steps or so will unlock the iPhone to use any SIM card. Good work Dev Team!!! Wish I could see Steve Jobs's face right about........NOW!!!!!
