Default default lock/unlock + new text message ringtone + keyboard clicks not audible

    Hello All -

I've got my ifon repaired from an engineer & got this firware back on 1.1.4
Everything was working fine with all sounds audible but the time when I got it syncd with itunes with my earlier profile, since then keyboard clicks + lock/unlock clicks & even new text msg tones are not audible. I've installed volume boost patch for 1.1.4 but still it is not working.

    Need your help.

    @vbhamb,
Wow. Is this the same phone with the 1011 problem that we tried to fix?
Can you tell me what he did ?

Did you try reboot the phone?
Did you check the disable sound switch on the iphone ? (it's a physical switch on phone above the volume control).

As far as the volume boost patch goes. it barely does anything unless you are in a region where volume is limited. Apple limits the volume in certain country to 83%, if you are in one of such country, you will see a 17% increase. Thanks to slevytam for letting me know of this.

Well, it was actually a hardware problem what I was facing. I had to get module changed & it is up & running now.

Have you seen this issue with iphone on 1.1.4?
"default lock/unlock + new text message ringtone + keyboard clicks not audible"

ringtones are fine. I've rebooted the phone couple of times & also checked the physical volume buttons but no luck.

Did you check to "restore from a backup" (you old iPhone) when you connected it to iTunes? Or did you select "setup as a new iphone". If you have been choosing "restore..." I would recommend to DFU restore to 1.1.4 again and when connecting to iTunes choose "setup as a new iphone". maybe in one of your backups you have a corrupt preference file that got back on the iPhone this way.

    just my 2 cent

You are correct. I had linked it to my earlier profile. How can I come back now? It has been reformatted but the issue persists.
Even youtube videos are not audible.

I would DFU restore to Apple 1.1.4 firmware and unlock it then. You need to get rid of those legacy preferences. After unlocking connect to iTunes, setup as a new iPhone and sync it check if everything is working then.
I'd give this one a shot.

Well, you said when you got the iPhone back, repaired all issues were gone. They came back after you re-applied old settings by accident (restore from backup), so my feeling is that this might be the point. I would go for DFU restore, then just test stuff, not starting to apply patches first.
