    Default Dead iPhone back to life with DFU

    I'm using iPhone since version 1.0 of the firmware.
    I had a nice time applying all the hacking I found on Internet.

    I started with the hardware hack for Geohot
    Later on I moved to 1.0.2, 1.1.1 and finally today I've tried 1.1.2.

    I messed up things a little and I've decided to go back to 1.1.1.
    I was unable to jailbreak it and I've tried to go back to 1.0.2 using iBrickr!

    At that point my iPhone started dumping a trace of the kernel every time I boot it. I think I saw something similar on youTube. I was ready to trash everything when I discovered the problem was caused by iBrickr.

    It seems that he used a file called DFU.exe to upload to the phone a file called
    iBSS.m68ap.RELEASE.dfu

    Not sure what it is but probably the USB bootloader.

    Well in the end I was able to go back to Restore Mode launching the following from the folder of iBrickr 0.91:

    dfu iBSS.m68ap.RELEASE.dfu
    -> s_Looking for iPhone
    -> s_Sending boot files
    -> s_File sent

    I took the "iBSS" file from the IPSW of the 1.1.1.

    Hope this helps someone!
    Cheers,
    D.
