I'll get my iPhone in a few hours and planned to unlock it with this guide: http://www.iphonegoboom.com/#easy

Everything looked good 'till someone at the IRC told me that I had to upload the 2 firmware files (http://www.iphonegoboom.com/#restore) and bbupdater to the phone before unlocking.

Is this necessary to guarantee a safer unlock, or is it easy to install them afterwards if anything goes wrong?

I don't want to do any unnecessary steps to prevent messing up the phone...
