Control on WiFi and Modem Signal Power Settings...
I have a 2G and after some real test on different firmwares i wanted to report this and also if any fix can be done.
The firmware 2.0 and above, Wifi Signal strength is reduced, and also the baseband too. The bar are less when compared to 1.1.4
My thought was when 3G was developed, Apples main problem was battery drain and i think they reduced the power levels to the Base band (Modem) and Wifi.
I was able to connect to my weak signal on 1.1.4 but no more on 2.0 firmware.
Can somebody (ta_mobile) figure it out how to increase the power levels on WIFI and Modem?
Thanks in Advance

yea that's correct I have been facing the same problem. especially after updating to 2.0.1 or may i didnt notice it when i updated to 2.0 coz i used it only for afew days but definitely there has been a change in GSM reception.
I tried changing BL to 3.9 and then back to 4.6 didnt improve. And the weird part is if i let it be on desk the bars go to max and as soon as i unlock the screen its back to 2 bars again !
wht to do !!
how i did come across some custimizatable options which allows u to increase the wifi power.
I suggest search for it.

it goes by the name of 'advanced preferences'.

my bad ..it just shows the strength in numerical values ..doesn't do anything to the power.
