ipsw is the software update file.

You know when you have to downgrade to 1.1.1 or upgrade to 1.1.2 you need a file to download, thats the file. Its the 1.1.3 ipsw file.

Also, its, as pspully said, with the Dev Team.

Let them first retrieve the secpack and the unlock will soon come.

So can anybody tell me
If every thing works out(the dev team gets the secpack from 1.1.3 the unlock is made for 1.1.2)
To unlock the iphone (1.1.2 otb) all we will have to do is jailbreak active and put anysim (lets say 1.2.1 ) on it thats all.that easy?

lol its basically a zip file, only in a format that itunes can interpret

ipsw - iphone software file. ipsw is the extension of the file. If you restore an iphone it is a file like this that itunes downloads.

I think it eases ppls minds when a dev team member or one connected to the dev team posts on this and other sites. I think some ppl think the dev team is a mythical creature.

i undertand everything that is going on and from my hopes from being low that are getting higher and higher im extremley happy but there is just one thing that i dont understand is that why does the dev team need the secpack from the ipsw file to unlock the iphone 1.1.2 otb im sorry its just the one thing that i dont understand

its a special file to enable the unlok to happen...as a secpack was created from 1.1.2 to help make the unlok software called anysim happen for the 1.1.1 version fones..
