    @perfectblue
You are right, I just noticed that when someone left voicemail, I DO NOT receive SMS notification. I just tried type in
"To set SMSC type *5005*7672*xxxxxxxxxx# then CALL where xxxxxxxxxx is your SMScenter number. (7672=SMSC on keyboard); for orange : *5005*7672*+33689004000# then CALL"
it says setting success... but still, I didn't get any SMS notification.
    so what should we do???
P.S. My regular SMS works, both sending and receiving works ok.

    To aaronliu:

Then I'm afraid it's like what healeydave described at p.7 #65, the carrier's Voice Mail SMS Notification is completely ignored by iPhone. Unless there's an option to change the notification to a different way with TransAsia, I guess that's the way it is for now.

    As for as I know:
    FarEasTone: No way to change
Taiwan Mobile: SMS or Call Back
    CHT: ??
    TransAsia: ??

Let's not drift away from the topic, please PM me if you get any success over at TransAsia or CHT.

Go to the phone app and enter this sequence of numbers and call it:

    *5005*86*xxx# then press CALL

(where xxx is the number you dial to get to your voicemail. On iSim (Optus), it's 321, so I typed *5005*86*321# then pressed CALL).

Voila! Voicemail button should work! Worked for me on Vodafone New Zealand
Anyone get this working with Rogers? I tried using 98 but it just gives me an unknown application error when I try and click the Voicemail button.

My orange voicemail number is *777

    When I enter the following:

    *5005*86**777# call

I get a wrong number, then I tried

    *5005*86*777# call

Same problem. If i manual just enter *777 in the dial pad and call, I get my voice mail.

    Any ideas?

Make sure you have Voicemail activated - dial 1211 to activate
Call 121, Select 7, Select 3, Select 2 "Text Message with icon Alert"

If you want to deactivate voicemail at any time dial 1210

    Default complete number

do you have a number you can dial to access your voicemail from a landline/different phone? I.e., with my carrier in Germany (eplus), i can dial it with an "inserted" 99: my regular number is +49 177 xxxxxxxx.
To check my voicemail from my iPhone, I dial a shortcut (like 9911).
To check my voicemail from a different phone, I dial +49 177 99 xxxxxxxx.
After entering the latter into the "code" above (not the "shortcut"), my voicemail button on the iPhone finally started working! Yay! So you may want to check with your carrier if there is such a complete number for checking your voicemail.

Voicemail: No (favorite only) -- VM notification: No
