Just so that I understand the issue you are having.

    1. Are you getting NO SERVICE or are you trying to relock your iphone? its not clear from your post.

    2. If you are getting NO SERVICE was it after an unlocking attempt - did you run anySim with the sim card inserted?

    3. The long method will relock your device and it will reject all SIM cards even the AT&T sim card until you get to the unlocking step.

    4. Have you tried to reset network from Settings->General->Reset->

So I tried my wife's UK Orange sim in the iPhone. It seemed to work fine, but when the phone has been on standby for over a few minutes, it won't take incoming calls. I get a 'dead' tone on the phone I am calling from. Then I'll wake the iphone and calls will come in fine.

Is this the 'NO SERVICE issue'?
This seems to be a SERVICE issue but not the NO SERVICE issue that is discussed here where the device loses all Signal strength after a modification procedure

    Dear Mooshi,

I just unlocked succesfully my iPhone using anySIM 1.2 and now I am getting the infamous "no service" message.

I read your very interesting and useful guide and I have some questions for you:

    1) I did run anySIM with my Italian sim card installed. Do you think this caused the "no service" problem (I see that you suggest to run anySIM without the sim card installed)?

    2) I see that when you have to factory restore the iPhone, you bbupdate bot *fls and *eep files, while if you only have to solve the "no service" error you bbupdate only the *.eep file. What is the difference of these two files? What is the function of the *fls and the function of the *eep?

Thank you very much for your efforts and many thanks in advance if you'll reply to my message!!!

Yesterday the signal cames back.... but 1hour later it's gone and no more signal since that.
I tried everey thing, relock, unlock again (with and without the sim), short and long solutions....
My carrier is TIM, but i tried with others and had the same problems.
The same SIM is working 100% in other iphone.
I don't no nothing more to do?
    I need more ideas, please!!!

botolo, your phone is experiencing some 1011 errors and "no service" issues. I've already told you more than once: your phone need to be serviced by Apple.
It's an HARDWARE ISSUE. The CommBoard is higly UNSTABLE, it's defective. No way to repair it until a complete unit replacement.

    iRev/Max

PS: Looks like your medic told you 've got a bad disease, and you're wondering arounf asking thousand of other medics, looking for a "You're OK, You've nothing!" statement. You'll surely find it, but your disease wont' disappear.

Placebos can't be used succesfully on hardware.

Eheh iRev, thank you so much for your reply.

I am going to send the iPhone via FedEx back to the States and I hope they will change it for me...but you know how are "hackers" (I am a newbie eheh)...this is some sort of challenge for me and to tell you the truth, I am enjoying much more now that I have problems :-)

Uaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, I flashed the *.epp file and the iPhone started working with full signal...half an hour after, I have the "no service" signal again. I think that iRev is right, this should be an hardware problem. It is not possible that I get the signal for an hour, then I get back the "no service" again. What do you think about it?

One more question: if I'll have to send the iPhone back to the US for a replacement...how can I "cover up" the iPhone in a way that Apple will not understand it is unlocked? I thought that reflashing to virgin state would have helped but I am reading that the virgin restore gives to the iPhone a typical IMEI number which Apple can use to understand that the iPhone has been unlocked.

Hey thanks for replying. Really appreciate all the help.

    1. I'm getting NO SERVICE, after several attempts at unlocking, relocking, unlocking, etc. Basically I'm trying to unlock my phone.

    2. It was after an unlock attempt. The first time I tried to unlock, the sim was in. I followed your instructions to the T though.

    3. Do I need the actual AT&T sim card to go through this, because I don't have it.

    4. No! One thing I haven't tried. Will try that, the restore, then your method. Will let you know.

    5. Can you see any trend here or offer anymore advice?

    Thanks again

    -me

    edit:

I also noticed that after doing this, often I will get full bars or just one bar. Sometimes it even shows my network (Fido). But it still won't let me use the network for anything.
