When you first go on a point that The Cloud operate, you are asked for your O2 iPhone number. You enter this in and then that number gets associated with your WiFi mac address.

Further visits just 'work' and do not ask for you to re-enter.

You can try and enter your O2 number but no doubt it will fail as it's not on an O2 iPhone tariff.

    Talking

Find a friend with an O2 contract whos been on a cloud hotspot. Type:

    ifconfig en0 ether 00:11:22:33:44:55

Replacing the last argument with their mac address. Enjoy your free WiFi!

Or find one that hasn't been on a cloud network and just use their number to register ;-)

When I went to try this last week, the first 3 parts of the MAC address were pre-filled on the touch plan form (and are different to the iPhone).

    How can this work then?
