Cleanup after jailbreak
After jailbreaking+activation+re-upgrading with the Dev Team solution (1.1.2-jailbreak, downloaded from conceitedsoftware.com), I would like to clean up the file system and remove any unnecessary files that have remained. I couldn't find a good list of them. Could anyone who knows tell me which of the files left behind by the jailbreak/activation/update can be safely deleted?
Some threads name files and folders that may be unnecessary, but they don't explain what those files are for. Here are some candidates -- please comment if you know what they are or if you know of other ones that can be deleted- All the .svn folders that are scattered over the file system (about 36 of them) EDIT: deleted wiithout problems
- private/var/root/root.zip and youtube.zip (what are they anyway?) EDIT: deleted wiithout problems
- .DS_Store files (again, a large number) EDIT: deleted wiithout problems
- /Applications/DemoApp.app EDIT: not a jailbreak thing, left it on there
- private/var/root/Media/touchFree EDIT: deleted wiithout problems
- private/var/root/Media/com.apple.itunes.lock_sync EDIT: not from jailbreak, 0 bytes, left it on

iPhone 3GS / 3.1.2 JB (PwnageTool) / 04.26.08 carrier-locked, Carrier Logo Fixer / Cydia / 1000 posts on Hackint0sh
Installing Cydia programs on a phone that has no internet connection: read this.
Editing binary .plist, .strings, .nib and .xib files:
* on your computer: Windows tool / conversion website.
* on your iPhone: convert those files in a terminal with plutil (installed with Erica Utilities) or edit them with iFile (Cydia links).

Those .svn files seem to be some information files, so I just deleted them and no adverse affects yet.
The root.zip and youtube.zip is what the TIF exploit downloads, which is then extracted and run. You dont need those anymore either.

What about these files/folders (two of which the OP mentioned)?
- /private/var/root/Media/touchFree/
- /private/var/root/Media/com.apple.itunes.lock_sync
- /private/var/root/Media/disk
- /private/var/root/Media/softupgrade/ <--left over from Nate True's 1.1.3 jailbreak
I don't want to risk deleting something that may still be needed. If anyone can confirm that any of the above can safely be deleted, I'd much appreciate it!
Thanks in advance.

I deleted this:
/private/var/root/Media/softupgrade/
and it didn't cause any problems during the next reboot or later.

Here: /private/var/root/Media/softupgrade/113_upgrade_image.bin
That is supposed to be safe to delete according to iClarified's tutorial.

Thanks. I'm going to back it up, along with the other files to my Mac, just in case before deleting them.
