Cant virginize and ssh to 1.1.1
Hi everyone,
My friend left his phone to unlock it. He had a 1.1.2 and i went back to 1.1.1 and now i want to virginize it because it has the 04.02.13_G Baseband. I ve tried to SSH into the phone but it doesnt let me, i ve used root and dottie but still no luck, it says access denied..
I ve tried to change the pass from master.passwd and tried again, but still no luck.. Now i ve restored it again with 1.1.1.
Couple questions, can i virginize using mobile terminal, if yes, how will set permission to 755 for bbupdater and ieraser. If not, how can i login in to the phone and do it via putty or WinSCP.
THank you

ok first off, if its a fw1.1.1, i believe the new password is alpine to gain root access. additionally, you dont need to virginize- this process is for fw1.02 phones that used anySIM 1.0x to unlock. the virginization process restores the seczones (in the baseband) that were changed with the unlock sw. so, i guess what you mean is that you want to 'restore'...correct? if so, check the forum post in 'iPhone-General' about putting the phone into DFU or to restore it. if you cant find it...here it is:

Oh thats right
Thanks for remind me, one last question.. I couldnt really virginize it because i had a problem with the ieraser. So i went back to 1.1.2.. The problem is, my friend activated his phone with a contract, is there any way that i can unlock this device even its activated already?

Your friend left you an AT&T activated phone with a 04.02.xx baseband. Is it running 1.1.2 out of the box. If so, cannot unlock it.
If the phone WAS 1.1.1 and updated to 1.1.2 then you can unlock it.
Search for 1.1.1 to 1.1.2 in the forum. At least several threads discuss in detail on how to do this.
