Default cant ssh my iphone 1.1.1

    Hey,

Just unlocked my 1.1.1 phone with independence and anysim.
Now, i cant get ssh working. I cant connect to the phone using
either Terminal och Transmit in Sftp mode. Ive tried uninstalling
the ssh sftware from independence and reinstalled a couple of times
but it doesnt work. I can ping the phone from terminal but cant ssh into
it. Tried all the passes. I get the connection refused error port 22 message
all the time. Tried it on two different routers. Weird. Anyone else having this
problem? I really want to get installer.app on the phone, but cant do it unless
    i get ssh working, right?

    Thanks.

    delete the file /Users/***/.ssh/known_hosts
    where *** is your username

after that, try to ssh and wait for at least 30 seconds to connect in your first attempt

    Hi!

Thanks for the reply! Excuse me for being a newbie but do you mean
the rm command in terminal? or is there a hidden file on hd that i need to
    ditch?

    Thanks

the known_hosts file contains the public key for each server/iphone you connect to via ssh, so if for some reason that public key has changed on server/iphone, then your Mac won't be able to match keys and won't connect.

so I suspect that it's the cause of connection refused in your case. rm command will do the trick, but I hope it's your issue and you will be able to connect.

I faced such issue before and removing that file resovled my issue.

    Hi again,

tried the rm ~/.ssh/known_hosts and terminal says No such file or directory.
Still having connection issues. Damn, it work on 1.02 with Bsd and open SSH, but
i cant get the software on the 1.1.1. phone if ssh doesnt work.

i'm having exactly the same problem mate!!! i did successfully remove the known_hosts file but it hasn't seem to have made any difference!

i'm holding out for installer.app to come out with a 1.1.1 installer, then we won't need ssh to get in on! fingers crossed eh!

tried it all. different passwords, changed passwords and so on.
reinstalled ssh several times from different versions of independence.
Like i said, the only time i got it to work was when i managed to install
bsd subsystem and open ssh from apptap on firmware 1.02. If only there was
a way to get the new installer.app on the phone without using ssh...
