    Aren't iPhones just solid-state memory drives? Concentually, can't we just clone the entire software of one iPhone onto the other? Would this be possible?

    It's a little bit more complicated than that ... you'd need to clone the "bios" as well - the non-volatile ram part

    in other words: not worth it

    So it wouldn't be possible to add pins to the chip and copy/read/write to it like you can do with EEPROM chips? I know it would take A LOT of effort but if somehow no one could find a software crack, wouldn't that work?
