Question Can I safelt perform an iTunes restore having used ziphone to jailbreak etc

A fairly basic question I haven't been able to find by searching...

Having run ziphone 2 on an OTB 1.1.3 phone and unlocked, jailbroken and activated my iphone. All was magical. However, I now have a slight problem and need clarification before proceeding...

My iPhone is now saying 'iTunes cannot read the contents of this iphone...'. I know this is not related to this ziphone. However, having unlocked, jailbroken and activated my phone using ziphone 2.0 - can I safely run a 'restore' through itunes or will it brick the phone?

    Thanks in advance...

I always thought that iTunes needs to be paired first with the iPhone before upgrading/restoring directly through iTunes; otherwise restore with a saved FW copy stored on your PC.
    Gort! Klaatu barada nikto!
iPhone 2G with FW 3.1 and no MMS

    Do a DFU restore ....
I've done this many many time on a 16 GB.
    when done.
put iphone in recovery mode and run ziphone.
