Can this be done successfully?
Hi all...sorry in advance for the "simplicity" of this question, but I have been looking online for several weeks now and have yet to find a clear simple answer:
I have an iPhone that is ATT activated, using iTunes 7.5 on a PC...iPhone has been upgraded through iTunes to 1.1.2 (from 1.1.1 and originally 1.0.2)...
Can I successfully "jailbreak" it to run appsnapp etc. and still leave all the original phone functionality (ability to call/receive calls and Visual Voicemail)?
I was able to jailbreak my son's "out of the box" 1.1.2 iPod Touch, but have been unable to downgrade my phone. I keep getting "error" messages when trying to Restore through iTunes (not the error message I am supposed to get, but first was "error 1" and second time was a different error). Maybe my 1.1.1 restore file is corrupt?
Also, if I am able to downgrade successfully do I need to use iBrickr, or is that only if I want to run "unofficial" sim cards?
I know its not "brain surgery", but I'm a bit "hack illiterate" so go easy on me please.
Thanks in advance for any ideas...
