What are the advantages and disadvantages of each? I am new at Iphone sftware.

Stick with the bootloader your iPhone came with incase it needs repair, since Pwnage was released it doesn't matter whether you have 3.9 or 4.6 bootloader. There used to be an advantage with 3.9BL however this is now obsolete.

I upgraded my BL to 4.6 and the phone seems to be running much faster. For example, navigating around in the GUI seems smoother and no hanging like it was on 3.9BL, I got a ~200kbps boost in my wifi speeds on 4.6 than from 3.9. Hope this helps.

After you update to 4.6, be sure to reboot the phone.

The reason why your phone is faster is simple.

If it was an original 3.9BL it means your phone is a 1.0.2 or 1.1.1 OTB, these firmware versions set the phone to run at CPU/FSB > 400/100Mhz.

When you update to 1.1.2 or higher, the phone is set to run at 412/103Mhz.
So, it is not related to the bootloader.

YouTube stoped working after neutering my bootloader...had 3.9FB phone unlocked using iPlus 2.0...is there a fix for this?

PS. I ran the bootbeuter and not pwnage tool since i have a windows pc.

I was online with enkrypt3d when he was testing it and couldn't understand why things are faster.
BTW, where did you find out the CPU/FSB information for 1.1.2 & higher?
Also, he was running fw 1.1.4 with 3.9BL - so according to your info, his phone was running at 412/103 MHz prior to BL upgrade.

You can see the CPU frequency with sysinfo (from Installer).

if youtube stopped working after iplus try running it after a restore without the youtube files, if it stopped working after the nuetur then try starting a fresh pwned

does it work when you go back to 3.9?
