[Bootloader 3.9FB] Has anyone gone back to 4.6BL sucessfully? and how?
I was wondering if anyone here had succesfully updated their 3.9FB bootloader back to the original 4.6 obviously for the purpose of returning it to Apple to fix under warranty...
It seems to me that the process is far more complicated than downgrading it - from what I understand you have to downgrade firmware to 1.1.2 and then reflash your baseband to the 1.1.2 version (using the option in installer? or some other method) and then you can update back to 4.6 - and I don't know how you would even do that!
It seems to me that in order to make it truely reversible that someone should make an automated process just like the way it is downgraded.
I myself hope it never comes to a case where I need to go back to 4.6 but my phone restarted whilst syncing today and if it came down to it that it was an unfixable issue after restoring etc then I would have to go back to Apple AND I would be WORRIED I would mess up my phone worse trying to put it back to 4.6 than I was when using iPlus originally.
So are we going to have a simple way to go back to 4.6 original for those of us that need to so they can return the phone to Apple and has anyone successfully gone back to 4.6? and if they have then what has been the method you used?

Not really, its was actually rather easy,
Downloaded iphone-tools1.1.4a.rar
then ran ipone-tools -r to relash
and iphone-tools -B to upgrade back to 4.6.
I did it a few times already and no problem. only takes about 5-10 min...

did u use ziphone to do the bootloader downgrade?
if yes, the only way to upgrade to bootloader 4.6 is using A17 testpoint method at the moment....
if using iplus before, u can use iphone-tools b version to do the bootloader upgrade....

any easy way to do it on a mac yet? been looking around but I haven't come across anything.

was on 1.1.4 and bb was 4_4X with 3.9 FB.
once upgrade BL to 4.6 was also on 1.1.4 and bb4_4x. Ran iplus back to 3.9FB and still worked.

The new iLiberty will support the option to go back to BL4.6 from 3.9FB.

So right now we have to downgrade the baseband using Installer.
Is that safe to do that with a network connection as it is going to mess around with that by changing the baseband!? will it mess up the phone?
When it is finished (assuming it works without any problems) will the phone just work or will it require a reboot? or a DFU restore to 1.1.2?
And then we have to do the bootloader upgrade and then do we need to DFU restore again or will it just work (on 1.1.4 with 1.1.2 baseband)?
I am aware that if I want 1.1.4 working a DFU restore would be needed to get the matching baseband and firmware.
It seems a bit complicated in that there are lots of variable to consider.
It would be much better (and maybe iLiberty will do this) but it would be better if it reflashed and upgraded the bootloader all automatically and just restarted when it was done!
