Blackberry o2 tariff for an iPhone
Hi
As soon as the uk o2 iPhone is unlocked I would like to use the sim my company provide me with in an iPhone. My company provide me with a Blackberry on O2. This has unlimited data for the blackberry.
What I would like to know is will I still get unlimited data even if I am not using a Blackberry? Can O2 tell what phone I am using and start charging my company for the data used on an iPhone?
Any help much appreciated, really don't want my company getting a big data bill.

Not been confirmed yet but I believe following the fixes for EDGE on the forums will be fine.
I'd personally not recommend it as it may end up in ROAMING mode if it doesnt detect the correct settings.
Do this at your OWN RISK.

Your blackberry data is totally separate from the normal browser data - you will end up with a huge bill. Trust me - I did.
Blackberry data can be used for BIS/BES email (ie not iPhone email), for blackberry browser, blackberry messenger, blackberry MMS and (I believe) Yahoo! messenger - everything else gets routed through the normal APN, which is charged separately.
If your company is getting ALL its data free (ie both blackberry and non-blackberry), then it won't matter so much but, yes, they can tell what type of data you are using. Whether they care or not is another matter....

Great thanks. I have spoke to the person in charge of phones and she didn't really have a clue what kind of data. She said to just try it and if we get a big bill don't do it the next month.
Fair enough.
Thanks for all your replies, much appreciated.
