[BL4.6 1.1.2 or 1.2.3] GEOHOT METHOD, installer based method (no WinSCP or V-Term)
Hi!
iClarified just released this:
http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=649
This is the Geohot method (IPSF-like, restore resistant) for BL4.6 1.1.2 or 1.1.3 OTB phones! Works with 16GB too!!!
No need for WinSCP or V-Term, this is a Installer based solution. Just run it and you are unlocked! the tutorial contains step-by-step instructions, even newbies can do it.
Please, report how things worked out for you. Iīll unlock a 1.1.2OTB unit later today using this method.
PLEASE: Letīs make things organized. The only way to actually know how well this method works is to people provide information about their iPhones, so we can make sure to which models the method works, and to which it doesnīt. So, when reporting if your unlocking worked (or not!), include the following information on your post:
IPHONE FIRMWARE: (brief history here / mention the OTB version and any upgrades-downgrades)
BOOTLOADER VER:
BOTH "BSD Subsystem" and "iWorld" INSTALLED?: yes/no
ANY PREVIOUS UNLOCKING ATTEMPT?: yes/no
PS: If it works for you, donate some money to George! The link itīs at the end of his blog: http://iphonejtag.blogspot.com He deserves it!!!
Greets from Brazil!!

This looks great, I am going to try this when I buy a 16gb iPhone during my lunchbreak! Looks like I won't be getting any work done this afternoon..

ops! I meant 1.1.3 (not 1.2.3, obviously).

I just have one question. When it says you have to have your phone jailbroken first in order to do this, it appears to me that it only has instructions for if you've UPGRADED to 1.1.3. What if it is 1.1.3 OTB? Or is this just me being ignorant and not seeing some small detail. I'll guess it's the latter.
Anyways, thanks for this post, this is something I am definitely going to try in the next few days!!

You can check the other tutorials at iClarified for Jailbreaking instructions. The installer app from iClarified works for OTB 1.1.2 and 1.1.3 phones.
If you have 1.1.2OTB, you must downgrade to 1.1.1, jailbreak (jailbreakme.com), run oktoprep, then SHIFT+UPGRADE to 1.1.2 then use jailbreak.rar. After that, you can run the iClarified app from installer.
If you have 1.1.3 OTB, you must downgrade to 1.1.1, do the whole upgrade to 1.1.2 (and jailbreak) and then do the installer-soft-upgrade to 1.1.3. After that (youīll have a jailbroken 1.1.3) you can run the iClarified app to unlock it.

This looks like the best method so far. Anytime you start to dabble with V Term or winscp you leave room for error.
Counting down for iPhone 2012 =)

I agree.. Itīs the way to go. No room for error, works like a charm, as many people reported. Why not make it a sticky??
(correct the "1.2.3" to "1.1.3" on the thread subject though...)
