Beware iPhone unlock scammers on eBay
There are some eBay'ers trying to sell their OOTB (out of the box) 1.1.2 iPhones on eBay claiming you can unlock it yourself. They are either not knowledgeable enough to know there is no way (at present time) to unlock an OOTB 1.1.2 phone or they are intentionally trying to scam you. (SEALED/UNSEALED makes no difference). So beware.
If you see a posting like this, use eBay's 'Ask a seller a question' feature to contact them before you buy. I asked one seller and he genuinely didn't know it couldn't be done.

Alot of people in ebay and around the globe dont understand all that technical languages.. so is very hard for you to explain that to then....

We'll the eBay ad is misleading a 1.1.2 OTB can be unlocked by purchasing a turboSIM.
Probably lots of people bought 1.1.2 OTB and then discovered a simple Jailbreak would not work anymore. So dump em on eBay to someone else.

I'll tell you what -REALLY- annoys me about eBay.
Listings that are selling "1.1.1 Unlocked" phones and inside the item description the idiot seller has said "YOU ARE BEING SCAMMED IF YOU BUY AN UNLOCKED 1.1.2 PHONE".
Yes, you are being scammed if you buy an unlocked 1.1.2 OTB phone - as it's not currently possible...
But there are plenty of folks like myself who are more than smart enough to unlock 1.1.2 pre-week 45 phones and sell them on eBay to customers who want the latest firmware.
I swear I get a message once a week now saying "You are a scammer - 1.1.2 cannot be unlocked."

Here experts know the new bootloaders couldnt unlock but ebay is universal and alot of people search to buy something. Many people maybe dont know the issue and the seller cheats because of his stupidity.

Ebay is the biggest INTERNET marketplace, you don't know what you can get in there, so just don't pay attention to all stupidity people list.
Lol, this is not even worth discussing...

Exactly. I got a message from another iPhone seller. Obviously he was a n00b and knew nothing more than taking a few pix and putting on the ebay. He told me that no unlocked phones could be upgraded and he was gonna report me to ebay. Well, he obviously didn't know that the anysim 1.1.1 unlock would remain when you upgrade from 1.0.2 to 1.1.1 and he didn't pay attention to Hackint0sh.

I had the same thing here in switzerland. A guy made an advertisement for unlocking OOB 1.1.2 iphones. I sent him en e-mail and asked how much he wants for that. He replied and wrote 30 quid. so it can't be turbosim, so I made the decision to ask him again, and he told me, that he just makes a fw downgrade to 1.1.1 and then uses the anysim application. isn't that impossible because of the baseband?
