before the move from 1.0.2 to 1.1.3
Before everyone jumps on me about reading the FAQs etc... I have.. my question is sort of different from all the answers available here...
my current phone has a lot of contacts, notes, sms's etc that i would like to keep and restore when i upgrade the os... is this possible? my current firmware is 1.0.2 unlocked using the very first unlock process...
can this be done, if yes, what is the best recommended method?

Anyways, use 'upgrade' button on ur iTunes and not restore. Then when u r done installing 1.1.3, it will ask you to restore from ur previous iPhone image. So just click yes. U r done. Every setting will come back. (I am not sure about 'notes' coz I have lost it many times. )

At the end of the restore iTunes automatically restores your settings, your contacts, even your call list and your usage time.
Tried this on 3 iphones and worked on all 3.
1. connect your iPhone to your PC/Mac
2. use restore: iTunes will ask you if you are sure that you want to save your settings and restore to 1.1.3.
3. Use Ziphone to activate, jailbreak and unlock your iphone.
