[Baseband] Erase it with iphone-tools or ziphone - OK for 3.9FB?
Is the "erase baseband" feature of iphone-tools (and also ziphone) safe to use with 3.9FB?
The documentation of iphone-tools and and ziphone both specify "3.9 only", but it doesn't say whether that means 3.9FB as well as 3.9orig...
So... is it safe to use "iphone-tools -e" (or "ziphone -e") with a 3.9FB iphone?

Probably not. Zibri is NOT at all a supporter of 3.9FB, god knows what would happen if you use Ziphone to erase. It will probably downgrade your bootloader if your not careful. I would not recommend this, at all. It's just asking for trouble. Might i ask, why you would want to?
If anything, just downgrade to 3.9, then erase. 3.9FB, I'm scared of what would happen. lol
Edit: And i would assume that ierase is ONLY meant for a certain bootloader, and im SURE there is a difference between fakeblank and the original. Wouldn't recommend trying it, yet again don't see the need to erase baseband if you got 4.6 lol

Erasing baseband + doing a DFU restore essentially 'virginises' the phone, ensuring that it is completely fresh & clean after the restore is completed... I have a 3.9 OOB iphone and that is how I upgraded to 1.1.4.
It would be good to know if there is an equivalent method of erasing baseband for 3.9FB phones, if you ever want to do a fully complete restore...
There's numerous examples where people have had problems persist through a DFU restore (most noteably the WIFI issue). These people might benefit from being able to completely erase their baseband before doing a DFU restore, to ensure that the phone is 100% fresh and unadulterated once the restore is done, so they can re-unlock afresh without any residual effects from previous unlocks.

well my iphone was a 4.6BL until i used iplus2.0b and it downgraded me to 3.9FB so would it be safe for me to use eziphonetools to get my 4.6ori back?

Exactly, I'm on 3.9FB and I am wanting to erase baseband and restore 1.1.4 before re-unlocking in order to have a clean/fresh phone. A simple restore isn't clean enough. I am tempted to use ziphone erasebaseband but stopped when i read it was for 3.9 and not 3.9fb. Any update on this issue?

Why risk (-e) with eziphonetool when (-r) would refresh the BB back to a lock status a lot safer then (-e) would.
I've run (-r) on fake blank with eziphonetool and it work great

n350z, didnt know about this (-r)! Isn't this the shortcut for refurbishing(which accoriding to ziphone it erases your baseband as well)? Where can I find this eziphonetool? BTW, I was also thinking of downgrading to 1.1.3 and then restoring to 1.1.4. Will this give me a fresh baseband as well?
Thanks!

eziphonetool 1.3 also gives you tools to update from 3.9FB to 4.6std or 4.6fb as well
I've tested all the options on my phone and every time they all worked great for me

hey, thanks for the pointers. i'm downloading the tool.
however, what i meant by downgrading to 1.1.3 and then restoring to 1.1.4 was as an alternative to using any tool. just simpy downgrade and restore back up (this should undo the present unlock).but, do you think this will be as "fresh/clean" as the -r on eziphonetool?
