    Default [Baseband] dead, tried everything

I have 1.1.4 phone, DFU back to 1.1.4, usual baseband problem behavior.
    - no wifi
    - no imei
    - no modem version
    - iphone needs to be repaired, etc...

When I restore to 1.1.4 the restore process never ends, I have to abort it, and get the phone out of DFU manually. The flash did work, mind you, but it does not fix the baseband.

bootneuter installed via iLiberty claims it is bootloader 3.9. When I try to upgrade to 4.6 (or do anything for that matter) in bootneuter, it hangs for hours at "flashing bootloader". When I tried erasing the baseband via iLiberty, I noticed an error appear saying that the baeband was the wrong version.

I tried the "fix for no signal, no wifi, no bluetooth" in iLiberty, that hangs too.

I cannot restore 112 or 111 as iTunes complains bitterly (error 1 or 5). Restoring to 113 hangs at the end just like restoring to 114.

Kinda desperate here, will take all the help I can get.

    Thanks!

    Update: I installed BBInfo.

It said "Pinging baseband" forever... eventually I got a screen where I saw
    "Iphone 1,1"
    Baseband: Present (??)

The GUI seems frozen, I cannot scroll down to see the baseband info.

In fact I seem to have the exact problem described here:

    http://www.hackint0sh.org/forum/showthread.php?t=34713

But the zip @ http://stuff.uselessblather.com/tools46.zip is no longer available. So I'm SOL.

More updates. I was able to run "ienew" with a 114 secpack successfully. I followed that with rebooting in DFU to restore 114. The restore did not complete, suggesting the bb is still messed up somehow.

what error (#) r u getting when restore using itunes. Next time remember to include this error number because it may help to resolve the problem easier. Have you try ibooterwin yet? it'll recover your messy nvram and it'll help you guy to check to make sure the radio nvram is still there . Please refer to ibooter. After checking ibooter. i'll help you to resolve the dead bb (hopefully).

    OK, ibooter says:

    ] radio readnvram
    radio readnvram
Read 0 bytes from nvram in 5015233 usec.
Errors reading NVRAM (last block 0) -- cleaning up!
    Radio NVRAM Entries:
    ] radio version
