automatic firmware update??
first of all, this is my first post, so hello everyone,
second, english is not my first languaje so be patient with me
well, i have unlocked about 12 iphones in the last week, but last friday i
unlocked a friends iphone, everything worked right, we test it and all, so
i left happy, but today he called me saying that his phone was displaying incorrect sim...
i tryed the same thing, but it was displaying the itunes icon with the conector thingy instead of the yellow triangle (wich i found that it means it has the 1.1.1. firmware), i asked my friend if he updated the phone with itunes, but he didnt, he told me that he was showing the phone to his brother, and they tried for a while the phone with his sim (wich was at&t) and that was it...
so the phone automatically updated the firmware when they put the att sim??

he's lying! the phone has most definatelly been updated with itunes to 1.1.1
the upgrade is 150mb there is no way it happened without itunes. he probably just clicked the ok box and didn't notice. the only thing you can do is downgrade, (look up downgrade threads) and you will not get the phone functions back untill a new unlock software comes out
sorry but no chance the phone updated 150Mb without joining to itunes

turn off phone
hold home and plug into the computer
press shift and click restore in itunes
pick this restore file
http://appldnld.apple.com.edgesuite....8_Restore.ipsw
after restore run apptap installer
then run pacay
this will get you a working ipod
phone wont work again untill a new unlock or baseband downgrade utility comes out
sorry
any problems follow this guide, trying to unlock again wont work

i am using an at&t corp acct sim with firm ver1.02 unlocked and working fine
I do have a question :
whenever i plug it in for a recharge , it will not go back to the battery screen , i have to push down the on/off button then home key to get that screen ( suspect summerbord soft)

put it in restore mode with no sim chip in it! hold home and power untill it enters restore mode
that should get past the pin

Correct. Updates to 1.1.1 do NOT happen automatically. You have to click on the update button.
