Attempting OTB 1.1.2 Downgrade, iTunes wont detect iPhone
I bought OTB 1.1.2 yesterday and just started the process of downgrading to 1.1.1 and then Jailbreak and then upgrade to 1.1.2.
When I plug in the usb to pc connecting the iPhone, iTunes popup the following:
iTunes must check the iPod software server to identify this device
To enable automatic checking for updates, go to the general pane of itunes preferences and turn on " check for updates automatically".
2 Options for me: Check or Cancel
I pressed cancel and tried turning on the iPhone, but nothing happens. I the pressed both Home and power buttons together for 10 sec, still nothing happens!
What to do, should I let iTunes to check for updates?? I am running iTunes 7.6.
Thanks in advance for ur help!
I did the same and I was also worry about the iPhone not powering up. I kept pressing power and home and it finally reboot.
Note: mine was a jailbroken one, I went into the DFU mode just to see how 7.6 responses to DFU phones.
I uninstalled 7.6 and re-installed 7.5 but since the iTunes library was upgraded by 7.6 and 7.5 can't open it -> I removed the library and have to create a new one.
However, it was mentioned in this post that you can let iTunes check and still be able to restore by shift-retore
