Wait a minute. If you take the SIM out to get the IEMI to display correctly... then how would you convince the Apple Genius to replace your phone when it's plainly obvious there is now SIM installed - I mean, what's your rationale? That it doesn't make calls?

What problem did you tell them you had with the phone?

I guess apple sees that IMEI matches and they say OK and either fix or replace the iPhone! I used AnySim to unlock my iPhone and I guess apple didn't even see or detect the modded baseband. Just a little info for you guys...keep up the good work dev team...I REALLY WANNA SEE YOU GUYS JAIL BREAK THE F*** OUT OF 1.1.1!!

Now don't get me wrong, I live outside the US and have an unlocked Iphone, I am all for people being free to hack and unlock the Iphone and 1.1.1 hopefully soon.

BUT I don't think Apple should have to pay / put up with fixing peoples bricked Iphones if you have chosen to stuff about with their product.

Pay your money take your risk if you want to hack your phone ... thats not Apples problem to fix if we stuff it up.

If we want Apple to improve and update the Iphone software then for such a new and unfinished OS you have to expect that the OS will change and be updated and that those updates could stuff what we have all done to our phones.

I think any company may well put up with an enthusiastic open community supporting their products BUT that all stops when those people suddenly start to cost the company in support issues, replacing phones and being swamped with extra service issues because of that.

    Just my 5c worth
