Default anySIM only shows background img on iPhone

Hi, first of all thanks a thousand times for everyone involved in making the unlock happen! I really appreciate you guys' work!

Now, I followed meticulously the instructions on
    http://modmyiphone.com/wiki/index.ph...ck_OS_X_Part_1
all the way through to part 4, except that I replaced Erica Sadun's Unlock.app by anySIM. I have firmware 1.0.2, I installed Community Sources, BSD Subsystem and OpenSSH, I replaced lockdownd, and installed anySIM.

But whenever I launch anySIM on the phone, it just opens it background image and does nothing. The slider doesn't move and the "light wave" doesn't run across "slide to unlock" either.

This was a brand new phone, never attempted unlocking before. Other apps seem to work fine. Any ideas?

Also, besides looking prettier, whats the difference between Erica Sadun's Unlock.app and anySIM? From what I read both seem to require the same steps from the user.

    Thanks a lot!

I think they require different methods.

I have made a Windows anySIM unlock method. Link here: http://www.hackint0sh.org/forum/showthread.php?t=7194

Try that out and you shouldn't have any troubles.

    Hope all goes well!

Thx, but I don't have any Windows PCs here, only 3 diff Macs.
I also checked permissions in the FTP programm; anySIM is executable by everyone (777). Any other ideas?

Ok then, use this tutorial: http://modmyiphone.com/wiki/index.ph...ck_OS_X_Part_1

    This doesn't use anySIM btw

Yes but didn't check the link sorry. Follow the steps EXACTLY and you should get an successful unlock. Its when you start modifying steps that things go wrong...

SwiftDog just helped me solve it on IRC. It was a permissions problem.

So if anyone else has the same problem: If you FTP anySIM directly into the Applications folder on the phone as the modmyiphone guide suggest, you must change permissions afterwards to allow it to execute.

I had only done that on anySIM.app and didn't realize that that was a folder. So go inside of anySIM.app and chmod the anySIM binary inside (or, for good measure, the entire folder content) to 755. If you don't know wht chmod means, look for a Get Info button or something like that in your FTP programm and check "Execute" for owner, group and others.
