anySIM 1.2 on Upgraded 1.1.2 hang/crash fixed?
Hey folks.
As I had some difficulties with running anySIM 1.2(u) after upgrading to 1.1.2 a few days ago, I'd like to know how the status is on anySIM 1.2.
I had the problem that anySIM was suddenly hanging while "Copying firmware..." and the phone suddenly rebooted. It seems as if Jailbreaking and activation works now properly, so that would be about the time for me to try again upgrading to 1.1.2.
When I browse through the forums, I can see that other people had the same problem.
I saw in the iphone-elite group that anySim 1.2.1 was released in the meantime. Does this fix the crash/hang bug?
Please let me know so I can put up this information onto my iPhone Status Tracker:

Hi,
You should try 1.2.1u. I have successfully unlocked two iPhones with my method (updating directly to 1.1.2 from a 1.1.1 phone and running anySIM 1.2.1u directly from 1.1.2: http://www.hackint0sh.org/forum/show...&postcount=26). anySIM has finished the two times w/o a glitch. I will try with a 3rd phone. I really hope this is not a Orange-France-SIM specificity... is that even possible? the two times I ran anySIM I had my Orange SIM inside... so who knows. NExt time, I will try without a SIM.
Cheers,
Gusano.

I had it hang 3 times..... the fourth time it worked
My issue was Capitalization of the app name
You must upload to.... capitals matters!!!
/Applications/anySIM.app
Any variation causes the hang and exit after copying firmware
Also I uploaded secpack of 1.1.2(anysim uploads secpack.bin)...but this probably
didnt do anything!!

Thanks folks!
In the meantime some people sent me some information on this topic.
I integrated that information into the iPhone Status Ticker:
http://docs.google.com/Doc?docid=dgzw9xs_0gfhxns
It seems as if the most secure way to run anySIM 1.2(.1u) for 1.1.2 basebands (upgraded) is to downgrade first, run anySIM and then update to 1.1.2.
On the ticker you can find more detailed information in the respective section!
Thanks!

- As long as you have the 03.09 bootloader, so far it seems that any predicament you can get yourself into (not including but not necessarily precluding hardware methods) is recoverable, thanks mostly to DFU mode. Well, as long as you have a backup of your seczone. It may take several attempts to get the hang of it, but in the end any 03.09 problem is recoverable.
- The best environment to run anySIM1.2u from is 1.0.2. You can try from 1.1.1, but there's a maybe 60% chance that the NORdump stage (around 20% of the progress bar) will hang. Better to do it from 1.0.2, where there is (AFAIK) 0% chance of the progress bar hanging, if your file permissions are all 755 as should be the case.
- It will be interesting to see what iDemocracy adds to the mix today.
- There are several unexplored paths for the community to explore, even with respect to the BOOT04.06 bootloader. This is good news

Thank you. This got me out of a jam. The folder was named anySIM1.2 so I just stuck .app on the end of that. Big no no. Failed after copying firmware and left me with no modem firmware reporting in about menu. Once I renamed the folder and reran the program it unlocked just fine.
