if someone came across a used iphone with 1.0.2 installed, what would be the best way to unlock it (using windows) and update to 1.1.2?

(sorry for asking this if the answer is somewhere right on the first page of the forum)

1.1.2 seems to have more accurate locates using navizon.. I was on 1.1.1 and noticed a increase in the accuracy when I use the latest navizon.

Also, google map seems to load faster too

Sure, upgrading any device you own is a personal choice, i guess.

    But ultimately:

    - 1.1.2 seems faster.
    - 1.1.2 seems like you get better battery life.
    - 1.1.2 DEFINITELY crashes apps less.

All in all, there is little reason to say with 1.1.1. The 1.1.2 unlock works fine and if you're holding out for an 'official' unlock one is never coming.

    'official'. irony...
As for the "DEFINITELY less app crashes" I can't confirm that. My iPhone almost never froze before. After I had gone up to 1.1.2 (it's a 1.0.2) it crashed alsmost every time I took it into my hands. I got rid of Summerboard as it seems to use up a lot of power but I don't know yet how it works out.
